The judges praised the Tuns for its "great food, marvellous atmosphere, friendly staff and innovative promotional ideas". Graham Green, Greene King's Regional Sales Manager said "The popular Three Tuns attained this prestigious regional title for its highly professional approach and focus on quality that help it stand out from the rest. It really is a great pub."

The Tuns now goes through to the national final with the chance for Chris and Karen to win a trip to Marbella.

We in CAMRA are already well aware of what a terrific pub The Tuns has become in recent times. It has a place in the Good Beer Guide and Jerry Brown wrote about it in glowing terms in the last ALE.

On the real ale front, Greene King IPA is a permanent fixture with a Greene King seasonal beer often appearing as well. Recent other offerings have included beers from Woodforde's, Nethergate, Oakham, City of Cambridge, Adnams and the Cottage brewery from Devon. The pub is of course also renowned for its Thai food, the reputation for which has been built up both here and at Chris and Karen's previous pubs, The Hoops Great Eversden and The Navigator Little Shelford.

We hope to report on success at national level in the next issue.
