In second place was one of the nine beers we'd imported from Ireland - Hilden's Molly Malone's Porter, very much in the classic fruity porter mould. Third place went to a very new brewery, Great Oakley from Northants, with their Harpers best bitter.
A justified complaint from some customers at the 2005 Festival was that things got a bit too cosy at peak times hence the decision this year to restrict numbers. This certainly made for a much more comfortable drinking experience but apologies if you had to queue or gave up at the sight of the queue lengths.
Our thanks as always go to the many people who volunteered to help staff the Festival without whom etc. Particular thanks to our hosts, the University Sports and Social Club, who also provided the excellent food.
