The annual Champion Beers of East Anglia competition was judged at various beer
festivals across the region during 2010 and the category winners are as follows:
- Mild – Mighty Oak Oscar Wilde
- Bitter – Elgoods Cambridge
- Best Bitter – McMullens Country Bitter
- Strong Bitter – Adnams Broadside
- Golden Ale – Oakham Inferno
- Speciality Beer – St Peter's Grapefruit
- Stout – Cambridge Moonshine Black Hole
- Porter – Nethergate Old Growler
- Strong Ale - Oakham Attila
- Bottled Beer – Pitfield 1850 London Porter
In the grand final, these beers were blind tasted against one another and the winners were:
- McMullens Country Bitter
- Oakham Attila
- Mighty Oak Oscar Wilde
Congrats then to McMullens, the long-established Hertford brewer.
